the computer works well. the functionality is on par with everything but the most strenuous tasks like video editing or heavy gaming. it runs best when surfing the web or normal college tasks such as typing. the keyboard is great. the webcam is okay. speed is good. screen is alright. -silvershox at cnet.com
Well the laptop really is great. Yes, it's made of plastic but it seems to be sturdy enough. The keyboard is really nice, and it runs EXTREMELY fast. Built in WiFi connected immediately and stays connected. The touchpad is a little sensitive and the screen does have a bad glare under some lighting conditions. The touch-sensitive media controls (as well as Dell Media Direct) are a nice combo and are a nice touch. Overall, a great notebook for an even greater price. - ahsdrumguy at cnet.com
The Dell Inspiron 1525 is well worth the money in my opinion and well recommended. From the first day I got it I found it very impressive at loading speeds and efficiency and to this day I still find this one of the best qualities of this laptop. - PoloPete at reviewcentre.com
Really cool looks. Awsome performance and really good HDD (i've got a 250GB HDD). It's really slim. I'm impressed by the speed at which the machine works at. I don't really like Dell but this product of it's is really good. I don't know about the others but my dell is really quick. I like the 8-in-1 card reader. I also like the Dell Media Centre the way you don't have to boot the system up to play movies, videos, music, etc. - Harsh at notebookreview.com
Independent Reviews:
About the only thing the Inspiron 1525 can't handle is 3D graphics; with an Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and no dedicated video card option, it's limited to simple games and other 2D applications. - pcworld.com
But for a laptop that starts at only $499, it offers a lot of bang for your buck, including an HDMI output and touch-sensitive media controls, which are solid extras for a budget laptop. - cnet.com
