Is a Cleansed Colon Crucial to Maintaining Great Health?

An interesting but generally unknown fact about the colon, is that different parts of the colon directly relate to certain parts of the body. So if a particular part of the colon has a toxic build up, the part of the body it supplies nutrients to is more vulnerable to disease. Once the colon is cleansed, nutrition gets through and the body begins to heal.

This may be a new idea to us, but it is old knowledge. Many ancient societies used enemas and other methods of colon cleansing to help the body heal. People suffering fevers and dangerous illnesses began to heal once their colon was cleaned out. Jethro Kloss, author of the classic 'Back to Eden', which emphasizes the importance of colon cleansing, based his whole healing practice on it.

To maintain good health (or to recover it) it is extremely important to have at least one bowel movement every day. However, constipation is a huge problem in modern society and many people do not even have one regular bowel movement. In fact, as a result of high stress levels in our society in conjunction with low fiber and highly processed diets, over the years most Americans end up with layers of hard mucoid plaque lining their colons. This weakens the body's natural resistance to disease and can lead to malnutrition in the body because the nutrients are not distributed throughout the body. It can also cause a highly toxic state in the body, with toxins released back into the blood stream to try to release through the skin and kidneys.

Colon cleansing is therefore more important than any other type of treatment you can give your body to improve health and functioning. For example, if you take herbs and alter your diet to detoxify your liver, the toxins released will only be recycled back into your body if your colon is not working properly.

A colon cleanse doesn't have to be difficult or expensive. The three good F words will usually do the trick: fasting, fluids and fibers. A colon cleanse should start off with a fast. You need to decide on the best way to fast for your lifestyle and health. A seven day pure water fast is probably not going to work for a busy mom with a two year old or person who has a highly demanding career demanding a lot of people contact. A two day fruit and vegetable juice fast is a good way to start if you can manage it. If not, fast for one day. Something is better than nothing. Continue to drink the juices for the rest of the week but also eat raw fruits and vegetables. As well as the juices, drink plenty of water. Avoid all other foods and drinks. Continue this diet for as long as necessary to expel build up from the colon. When you feel cleansed, you can add in other foods gradually. However, to avoid future health problems it is wise to keep your diet healthy and natural.

If you want additional aids to colon cleansing there are many excellent herbal and other natural products on the market designed to assist and speed up the process. However, if your colon is very toxic releasing toxins quickly can make you sick and if your liver is not functioning optimally the toxins will simply circulate in the body.

Many people swear by enemas to clean their colons and others go to professional clinics to receive colonic irrigation. Colonic irrigation can be very harsh and release a lot quickly, causing sharp kidney pain and nausea in some people. If you are very toxic, a more gradual natural process is probably a healthier alternative.

Colon cleansing can be a simple answer to chronic illness and general poor health. Surely then, it should be a natural part of all of our lives.

How Often Could You Use A Quick Mental Energizer?

How To Invigorate Yourself With Basil Oil!

The Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil of Basil is a wonderful oil to have in your natural healing medicine cabinet. It is invigorating to body and spirit and can ease fatigue and encourage alertness.

If you think about the smell of fresh basil, just the thought probably brings a smile to your face. The aroma of fresh pesto or basil in tomato sauce is the smell of summer, and inhaling basil therapeutic-grade essential oil is like getting a face full of summer sunshine on even the dreariest day.

It's the smell we most often think of when we think of basil, and the interesting thing is, Therapeutic-Grade Basil Essential Oil can actually improve our sense of smell. Inhaling basil oil when used in a diffuser or added to bath water can ease headaches and migraines, improve concentration and clear the mind.

It can also be used in a bath to ease menstrual symptoms, muscle pains, arthritis and gout. Basil therapeutic-grade essential oil is a good general tonic for calming the nerves, easing the effects of tension on the body and reducing mental strain.

In addition, it is useful for respiratory problems and can help heal acne and insect bites when applied directly to the skin. It is thought to be particularly helpful in healing mosquito bites. Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil of Basil can be irritating to the skin, so always dilute in a carrier oil such as olive oil, especially when applying to sensitive areas like the face.

To use Therapeutic-Grade Essential Basil Oil to eliminate fatigue, first inhale the scent of the oil, then apply to the crown of the head, the forehead, the heart area and the navel. These specific areas are targeted because they are the conduits for energy flowing through the body. Clearing these channels helps you feel more alert, less run down and better able to meet the day.

For treating acne and insect bites, apply diluted oil directly to the site of irritation. To improve the sense of smell, apply to the nose. Basil Oil can also be used in a diffuser or vaporizer, added to a bath or massage oil, or taken internally to help with nausea, constipation, cramping or menstrual problems. A drop of therapeutic grade-essential oil should always be diluted in four ounces of rice or soy milk, water or other liquid before taking it internally.

Basil Oil should not be used by individuals considered to be epileptics, pregnant women, or on infants or young children. Otherwise it is an effective treatment to clear your mind, lift your spirits and invigorate you to meet the challenges of your day.

Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after the use of therapeutic-grade essential oils, and avoid contact with your eyes.
