Colon Cleanse Info Your Life May Depend On
It is always hard to know which colon cleanse info to trust. The myriad of commercials and infomercials on TV are trying to scare you into believing that you are on the brink of death if you do not get your colon seen to immediately.
Doctors and the medical community have never taken on the role of helping people understand preventative measures that can be taken to keep the digestive health optimum (lets face it there is more profit in ill people than healthy people). So, they would most likely say that if you are having a regular bowel movement then you have nothing to worry about.
So, who is correct?
The awkward and somewhat disappointing answers is that BOTH of them are right to an extent.
If someone has a diet that is high in fats, processed foods and generally nutritionally weak foods, with minimal roughage, then it is going to take the body longer to process and eliminate the waste.
If this happens that there can be a build up can occur as the colon tries to eliminate the waste, but without roughage elimination becomes harder. This can further slow down the evacuation of the waste and cause constipation.
There is also evidence if this continues that the waste material can start to accumulate on the lining of the colon and become caked on, and this is when there can start to be health complications.
There is an old saying that Death begins in the colon, and with colon cancer now being the second largest cancer killer after lung cancer, it is easy to understand why this saying still has relevance today.
If waste material is allowed to build up in the colon then eventually toxins can leach from it into our blood stream, causing medical complications.
This environment is also an excellent breeding ground for parasites, which are thought to be one of the major contributors to digestive health issues in the US.
That all said, if a person has had a diet that contains ample dietary fiber, both soluble and insoluble, does not eat excessive amounts of dietary fats or sugar, barring any medical conditions or other abnormalities, their colon has probably been able to clean itself naturally.
How do you know for sure if you have a clean healthy colon?
Well, short of having a colon examination, or perhaps going for colonic hydrotherapy, there is really no way to know for sure.
A simple test, which of course does not work for everyone but is a good guide, is that you should have as many bowel movements as you have substantial meals in the day.
There is no reason for the body to hold onto the waste by product from food, once the digestion of the food has completed.
